Restricted goods are goods of which the imports are restricted by law & hence require a permit from related government agencies. The permit must be presented during Customs formalities. Prohibited Goods are goods which are prohibited from importing.
For those who wish to import pets into Thailand, but not travelling with them, will need to obtain an “Import Permit” before their departure by submitting an e-mail request with subject “Request an Import Permit” along with some documents.
The China-Thailand FTA was signed and came into effect four months in 2003. It is an "early harvest agreement" on farm trade alone, whereby both countries opened their agricultural markets before the broader China-ASEAN FTA comes into force in 2010.

Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA) is one of two FTAs that Australian businesses can use to trade with Thailand. TAFTA also improves the environment for bilateral services trade and investment. The agreement entered into force in 2005.
The New Zealand–Thailand Closer Economic Partnership Agreement came into force on 1 July 2005. The Thailand CEP is designed to improve the business environment between New Zealand and Thailand, promoting cooperation between Customs administrations.
India has recently inked a FTA with Thailand for setting up of a free trade area covering goods, services and investment in 10 years. Similarly negotiations on investment would start in 2004 and is expected to be completed within two years.
In October 2002 Peru and Thailand agreed to set out a framework agreement towards a bilateral FTA. The Framework Agreement was ratified by the Peruvian Congress in 3 December 2004. The government of Thailand ratified the agreement in 2005.
U.S. and Thailand in 2004 began negotiations on a FTA that was expected to expand trade for companies from both countries. U.S. laws prevent the U.S. government from resuming free trade talks until after a democratic government has been elected.
TIS Certificate is a quality certificate of goods issued by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute. Like other countries, Thailand has its own quality standards system, and Thailand's standard system is Thailand Industrial Standard.
Thai Customs, is the customs department of Thailand under Ministry of Finance. In addition to import duties handled by the Customs, certain import items are also subject to excise tax. These include gasoline, automobiles, etc.
